Childhood Education

As a young child, Trump attended The Kew-Forest School in Forest Hills, Queens. This is way above your average child care franchises and schools. The private independent school is known for having other notable graduates like Hank Azaria and Katharine Weber. Today, it attracts students from all of the surrounding areas including Manhattan. However, Trump did not complete his education at Kew Forest.

New York Military Academy

As a teenager, the Donald Trump education career took a turn. His parents transferred him to the New York Military Academy. Of course, this might come as a surprise to anyone who thought Trump was handed everything he has. Instead, Trump was forced to play by the rules. This is an important lesson to become a top manager in business. He learned to wake up at dawn, say “Yes, sir” and “No, sir”, as well as how to salute. Instead of cracking under the pressure, Trump’s education thrived as he succeed at the school, attaining many athletic and social awards. This was a turning point in his education background.

Donald Trump College Education

Next, Trump attended Fordham University in the Bronx. After 2 years, he transferred to The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania. Even in the 1960’s, this was one of the Ivy League Schools that was highly coveted by the business world. Trump studied real estate and graduated with a prestigious Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. While some may question his college years, the Donald Trump education does include an Ivy League degree. However, if you are wondering “is an MBA worth it?”, it does not appear to have been necessary for Donald Trump. Look at where a BS got him.

Business Background Experience

In business, we must continue to learn from our experiences. While our education foundation begins from childhood, our true lessons are learned in our careers – with real world experiences. Donald Trump’s business background can show us what he learned throughout his career. Over the years, he has learned how to lower costs, create jobs and build efficient organizations. Trump University

Later in Trump’s career, he entered the education business. Here, he promised to share his “keys to success” and his wealth of knowledge. While anyone who is serious about business, manager training or the real estate industry would be slightly interested in this course, the online university was shutdown after a short tenure. Most recently, Trump settled a case for the education university. While Trump’s education might be strong, his company to provide education received many complaints.

Trump Education Policy

Naturally, learning about Trump’s own education leads one to wonder about the effects his schooling has had on the Trump education policies overall. Despite Trump’s own  pursuit of higher education, his policies are not quite education-friendly. Donald Trump appointed Betsy DeVos to the position of Secretary of Education, much to the displeasure of educators and school administrators across the country. Most recently, Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the federal government from K-12 education regulation. Unfortunately, it does not appear that Trump wants other children to have the opportunity to earn a great education like he did. But hey, maybe this means now is a great time to invest in a Sylvan tutoring center franchise.

For most business owners, a strong degree in business management, economics, operations or finance is very helpful, as is knowing how to speak in public.
