Create Marketing Funnels That Accurately Reflect Buying Process

Starting your own business means building everything from scratch. Marketing funnels are no exception. But, many business owners may not think they are qualified to create a marketing funnel. They would be wrong. Building a sales funnel or marketing funnel requires no expertise; and it can provide you access to the many internet marketing benefits that bigger businesses take advantage of. You just have to know what steps to follow. Here are the steps you need to take to build a marketing funnel for your new business endeavor.

1. Identify Target Audience

In order to create marketing funnels, you need to first identify your business’s target audience. What demographic are your services and/or products tailored to? Once you have identified your target demographic, you can begin to actually take steps to create a marketing funnel that works for that population in particular.

2. Determine Behavior

Now that you know your target audience, you need to determine their behavior. Marketing research will help to inform you. However, it is more important that you determine consumer behavior as it relates to your actual business. Find out how customers came to know about your business. What types of advertisements or online marketing outreach made them aware of your company? What steps led to their purchase? Find out all you can about the consumer buying process that led to your existing sales. Then, you are prepared to start identifying the parts of a marketing funnel that pertain to your business.

3. Distinguish Sources

Once you know how your customers are being led to make purchases, you want to distinguish the sources that led them to that purchase. In the previous step, you were to find out what types of ads and marketing materials were the cause for customers making a purchase. This could be any number of sources, like telemarketing companies or print ads. Use that information to identify the most lucrative marketing channels for your business. This will help you to design a marketing funnel that does not waste time on ineffective marketing channels.

4. Establish Stages Of Behavior

Now, it is time to establish a number of stages of consumer behavior. For every business, this will vary somewhat. Usually, however, all marketing funnels and sales funnels include at least three distinct, necessary stages. These stages include awareness, consideration and action. Some businesses identify additional stages, like evaluation and intent. Others work within the confines of the three primary stages of marketing funnels. Regardless of how many stages your marketing funnel has, make sure they accurately reflect the customer buying experience for your unique business operations.

5. Check Efficacy

Once you have created your sales funnel for your linen service or other products and services, start using it for some length of time. Then, after a couple weeks or a month, go back and check to see that it still accurately reflects the buying process for your target demographic. If there are any areas in need of improvement, make those changes at that time. Then repeat the trial process for your new sales funnel. It may take some time to perfect your marketing funnels. But, it will certainly be worth it in the end.

If you are a small business owner, creating a marketing funnel is not beyond your scope of ability. All you have to do is know your customers and their buying process, relative to your business. That and those steps above are all it takes. Follow the steps above to design a sales funnel that effectively helps you close deals and increase sales volume for your business. You will not regret it.
